REBO Bottle LED light ring meaning chart:
WHITE RING flashes
WHITE RING means the bottle is working properly, it will flash once every time the user closes the cap. It will flash again after 10 seconds (if the bottle stays upright) to tell you the measurement has been successfully taken, and it will flash again right after, if the bottle is connected to the app and the data is correctly transferred.
BLUE RING flashes
At the beginning of your experience with REBO you will connect your bottle to your phone in a process we call bonding. When the app is looking for a bottle will make your REBO to flash in blue, then you can bond your bottle with your phone.
A BLUE RING flash will also remind you to drink if the bottle notifications are set up on the app.
GREEN RING
The battery is fully charged and the charger is connected to the device. The LED ring stays lit for a minute.
ORANGE RING stays on
The battery is charging. The Orange ring will stay ON while charging in daytime. If the bottle is being charged overnight, the intensity of the orange light will be dimmed down.
ORANGE RING flashes
The battery is low and the bottle needs to be charged.
RED RING flashes
The battery is very low and needs to be charged immediately.
PURPLE RING flashes
The bottle has been successfully disconnected from your phone. You will only see this signal if you click on “add another bottle” on the app settings or you unbind the bottle manually.
The accuracy of the measurement will depend on having your time of flight lenses in the inner part of the cap clear of any water droplets. If you see that there are water droplets, remove them with a damp cloth or with your finger. This will improve the accuracy of the measurement. You can also plug and unplug the bottle to the USB C cable connected to power, this will trigger a reset of the bottle. If you are still having problems after doing the above steps, click on the chat icon on the bottom right of this page so we can guide you with troubleshooting.
No worries! You can manually input what you drink outside of the bottle to keep up with your hydration statistics.
Your REBO will keep working normally even if it is not connected to any phone. Once the connection is back, the bottle will upload all the accumulated data to the app. The memory in the cap is able to store drinking logs for up to 3 days.
REBO is thought of as a personal item, therefore each bottle is synced with one account only. If the bottle is used by more than one person, the intake is attributed to the person synced with the bottle.
Unfortunately this is not possible in the current version of the app, but we may add this feature in the future.
REBO is thought of as a tool for hydration and we recommend using it with water for its full functionality. You can drink coffee and tea from the bottle, but it will not track these liquids towards hydration as due to the caffeine presence these do not count to meet your hydration goal. This is done by switching off the laser sensor when high temperatures are detected. We do this also to prevent the technology from getting damaged by liquids with high temperature.
In order to ensure the correct functioning of REBO, and its leak-proof closure, we do not recommend using it with sparkling water. If you still decide to do it, we cannot guarantee the correct functioning of the closure as sparkling water will create a lot of pressure in the bottle which may lead to leakage. Also be aware that the bottle will make a lot of noise “champagne effect” when opening it when there is sparkling water inside.
We have an algorithm which helps us determine what should be counted for the creation of a PACC. Hot liquids for example do not count as drinking them with REBO does not necessarily lead to the prevention of the creation of a plastic bottle.
Yes. We recommend washing it well to avoid influencing the flavor. Note that the bottle is dishwasher safe, so you can easily wash it. The cap on the other hand can be washed under running water but not in the dishwasher.
Yes, the stainless steel bottle is dishwasher safe, but only the bottle! The smart cap cannot be placed in the dishwasher in light of the electronic components which would be damaged. The cap is water resistant which means that it can be washed with a damp cloth, exposure to running water should be limited as much as possible.
No! Due to its embedded technology, the smart cap is NOT dishwasher safe. It is water-resistant and can be washed with a damp cloth, exposure to running water should be limited as much as possible.
- Plug the bottle to the charging cable, turn it upside down, and firmly tap twice on the cap until a purple light appears
- Go into the app settings and click on "switch to new bottle"
Now both your bottle and phone are available to be connected again
The REBO App is available on App Store, Google Play and Aptoide

Yes. You can do this easily from the app settings, but If you link the app to Apple Health or Google Fit it will change dynamically if these apps are updated with the changes.
Personal information is handled in a fully anonymized way that is GDPR compliant. We believe the European GDPR is the strictest standard to guard your information, which is why we apply it everywhere.
Yes, alerts on the bottle can easily be switched on and off in the settings screen of the app. You can also set the hours at which you are willing to receive the alerts. For the time being you are not able to change the frequency of the alerts, but we are working on making it possible soon.
Yes you can do this by allowing access to Apple Health/Google Fit where the historical hydration levels will be stored. You can click on the Apple Health/Google Fit icon in the hydration screen and quickly access it.
Unfortunately this is not possible in the current version of the app, but we are considering adding this feature
There are some easy things you can do to solve this issue. Please try the following:
1) Plug your REBO using a USB-C cable connected to power
2) When you see the orange LED light, turn REBO upside down (keeping the cable still connected)
3) Perform a soft double tap in the center of the LED ring (while the bottle is still upside down) until you see the LED ring turning purple and flashing twice
4) Unplug your REBO
5) Open the REBO App and click on "Connect bottle"
If this did not solve your issue, please look for a blue icon at the bottom right of this page, and interact with our live chat so we can take you through another troubleshooting process.

We are working on finding a final solution for this, but here is a temporary fix. Your phone’s bluetooth may have stored some corrupted messages and you have to clean your bluetooth's buffer, to do so, please follow the next steps:
1) Open Settings
2) Go to "Application Manager" or "Apps"
3) Ensure all System Apps are shown by either swiping left or right or tapping "More menu" or "the three dots" in the top right corner and choosing ‘Show system apps’
4) Scroll down and select "Bluetooth Share" or "Bluetooth". Then, tap "Force Stop" and then tap on "Storage" and then "Clear Application Data"
5) Go back and do the same thing for the system apps called ‘Bluetooth Test’ and ‘Bluetooth MIDI Services’ (if shown) (Force Stop and then tap on Storage and then Clear Application Data)
6) Toggle Bluetooth off and then back on
7) Once completed, restart your phone
Please take into account that this instructions may vary slightly depending on the manufacturer of your phone
We have noticed this issue with devices running iOS 15. Currently Apple has released iOS 15.2, updating to this latest version may solve part of the problem. This issue should be entirely solved with future versions of iOS 15.
For the moment we have some guidelines to try to momentarily solve the problem:
1) Turn OFF Bluetooth and turn it ON again
2) Reset Network settings
- Go to iPhone Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
3) Hard Reset your iPhone:
- iPhone 8 or later: Press the volume + button and then quickly release. Press the volume-button and then quickly release. Press the power button for seconds and wait for the Apple logo to appear.
- iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus: Press both the power button and volume- button for seconds and wait for the Apple logo to appear.
- iPhone 6s or earlier: Press both the power button and the Home button for seconds and wait for the Apple logo to appear.
Unfortunately, there is not a one-size-fits-all answer. Everyone is different. That is why it’s important to use a daily hydration tracker that creates a customized hydration plan according to your personal characteristics.
Our bodies have a way of telling us when something is wrong. Signs can be infrequent, dark urination, dry mouth, constipation, headaches, frequent sickness, dull or dry skin, thirst, and increased fatigue.
Numerous studies show that drinking water increases the number of calories you burn. Since water is naturally calorie-free, replacing it with other beverages - drinks typically loaded with sugars - means you consume fewer calories. As water is satisfying to the body when we’re properly hydrated we’re less likely to overeat, thus consuming fewer calories altogether.
Studies show 70-80% of the body’s water intake should come from the fluids we drink, leaving 20-30% to be absorbed in the foods we eat.
Offset credits are used to compensate for environmental outputs. They are increasingly popular among corporations and organizations wanting to improve their environmental impact.
Renewable energy is a great example. When it’s not feasible for a company to invest in its own solar, or wind, projects, it buys green credits to offset carbon-emitting energy usage with a renewable source. Many companies - including us at REBO - buy carbon credits of this nature to be Carbon Neutral. In other words, to offset the amount of Carbon that our existence generates.
Giving the growing threat of ocean plastic pollution, REBO offers a solution for minimizing plastic-footprints. Our take on offset credits are called Plastic Avoidance and Collection Credits (PACC), these provide an incentive for REBO users not to generate more plastic (Avoidance), and fund the collection of already existing plastic waste (Collection).
Technology embedded in REBO Bottles allows plastic savings to be 3rd party certified by the Gold Standard, ensuring the impact and credit-worthiness of environmental projects. Issuing PACC enables us to continuously fund ocean-clean up efforts.
The Gold Standard certification process reconciles data collected by the REBO bottle with the number of Plastic Avoidance and Collection Credits (PACC) REBO can issue and get sponsorship for. Our ability to continuously generate a trustworthy source of credits allows our sustainable business model to support itself.
Yes, REBO pays in advance for plastic collections and then it attempts to cover the cost by selling PACCs. The proceedings of the sale of PACCs are entirely used for funding plastic collections with no commission whatsoever to REBO. In the case of not fully covering the cost, REBO pays for it, always maintaining the 1 bottle drunk, 1 bottle collected promise.
Additionally REBO sponsors plastic waste awareness/education campaigns through its partner Project Rescue Ocean.
REBO is also a proud member of “1% for the planet”, the international network of businesses that commit to donate the 1% of gross sales directly to environmental nonprofits. To date “1% for the planet” has invested over $250 million in environmental solutions (to find out more visit our certification page)
According to the World Economic Forum, there are ~150 million metric tons of plastic in our oceans today. Each year 8 MILLION metric tons of plastic pollution enters our oceans. That’s equivalent to one city dump truck per minute. By 2025, the ratio of plastic to fish will be 1:3, and by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Studying these shocking stats is what lead us to start creating REBO.
Plastic islands refer to masses of aggregated plastic pollution in the oceans. As the ocean has become a dumping ground for plastic pollution, we have five plastic islands each with a surface larger than France. Our planet's plastic islands disrupt biodiversity and marine life, and its impact is felt around the globe.
No. We recognize plastic as an important part of the global economy. The real problem is our current usage and lack of recycling. Most plastics are used once (single-use plastics) and thrown away. Consider that it takes 450 years for a plastic water bottle to degrade. We have made progress in recycling plastics, but today only ~9% of plastic gets recycled worldwide.
After collectors part of the Parley Global Cleanup Network intercepts plastic waste, the plastic is cleaned, recycled, and processed into Parley Ocean Plastic®, a range of new premium materials, which replaces virgin plastic while raising awareness and empowering creators in the sports, fashion, finance and luxury industries to transform products into symbols of change.

Truth be told, as a young start-up we could not afford to be Cradle-to-Cradle certified. But, we followed the principles to design our product to be environmentally responsible. If you look next to the USB C plug, you can see that there is a screw that enables professionals to fully dismantle the cap and separate its components so that they can be reused or recycled. Watch out, once open the warranty is void.
Yes! REBO bottle is recyclable. You can dispose it together with other eWaste in your country or alternatively get in touch with us to check if there is a take back program available in your country.
We are developing take-back programs in different markets. Please check our website for the most current information click here.
REBO’s smart caps come with a rechargeable lithium battery and have an integrated USB C port to make charging easy. We chose REACH and RoHS certified lithium batteries because they are the longest-lasting battery, and the most sustainable option we could find.
Depending on the frequency of its use the battery will last on average 2 weeks. We are working on optimizing battery life in order to make it even more long lasting.
It will take roughly 2 hours in order to fully recharge your smart cap
We use time-of-flight technology. An infrared laser, harmless to the human eye, sends a light signal that hits the liquid and then returns to the sensor. The time it takes to bounce back is measured, recording changes in water levels. We do this over 10 seconds in order to get multiple measurements, make an average, and send them to the app. This is why it is important to leave your REBO vertically on a flat surface for 10 seconds, this enables REBO to get an accurate reading.
