Over the last two years we have learned the importance of not taking our physical and mental health for granted. For this reason, we want to provide you with a curated selection of the 12 New Year Resolutions that can help you have a positive impact on yourself and society. This well-balanced mix includes a host of activities you can undertake to become healthier, actively participate in your community, and take care of the environment. 



1. Eat vegetables regularly


Let’s start out with a healthy eating new year’s resolution! How moms were right! We need to eat as many vegetables as possible. Vegetables are especially crucial for having a healthy heart, a strong immune system and lower risk of cancer.  Even though the exact amount varies depending on age and sex, the recommended quantity is between 2 to 4 cups a days. In today's life it is more and more difficult to find time to exercise properly. However, studies show that even just 15 minutes of walking around the neighborhood has strong benefits on our health. 3. Meet New People


We all love to stay in the comfort of our homes or hang out with our old friends. However, we might be losing a lot of interesting opportunities for networking and having fun. On the other hand, going to events, workshops or simply joining a new club would allow us to meet new people, with consequent direct effect on our mental well-being.



4. Be More Polite


We are often so focused on accomplishing our goals that we forget the importance of making small gestures to improve other people’s lives. Just smiling to a stranger that we cross in the street might improve her/his day, which increases the likelihood of her/him being polite with a stranger or a colleague. This can become a virtuous circle that can improve our society.

8. Get going with volunteer work.


Discover the joy of volunteering and do some work to help your community or those in need. you could help out at a food shelter or help clean up a beach from plastic waste, there are countless opportunities out there. Volunteering is a valuable way to spend your time, and it will bring you many benefits and personal satisfaction.



9. Decide to make better use of water


Think for a moment and you will come up with many ideas to accomplish this goal. You could, for example, take shorter showers, turn off the water while brushing, and shaving, avoid unnecessary toilet flushing, optimize your washer machine loads, etc. Where there is a will, there is a way some say!
